Back in November 2026 Dawn the director of Reconnection to Wellness did a slightly terrifying thing and launched a crowdfunder to buy a new laptop and a bit of kit to keep Thriving with the Seasons moving forwards. She wasn’t asking for something shiny for the sake of it. Just asking for the practical stuff that makes the magic possible… the behind-the-scenes tools that let us capture stories, create resources, and keep this project alive in the long run.
And you lot showed up.
Some of you gave a little. Some of you gave a lot. Some of you shared the page, sent a message, or quietly backed us without fanfare. And all of it mattered more than you probably realise.
I hope nobody has been missed off- please please contact us if you dont see your name here!

To the people who gave and didn’t leave a name, we see you too .
We will turn up, help people reconnect to nature’s rhythm, and protecting the old, practical, often forgotten knowledge that kept communities well for generations. The growing, the making and the remembering…..
Thriving with the Seasons
Thank you for believing in this project and in the idea that seasonal living is not some fluffy trend, it’s a return to something deeply human.
Dawn - Reconnection to Wellness

Thriving with the Seasons is a National Lottery Heritage funded community wellness programme delivered by Reconnection to Wellness CIC in Darwen Lancashire.
It’s about getting back to what humans have always known: life works better when we live closer to nature’s rhythm. Through seasonal workshops and wellbeing sessions, we reconnect residents with sustainable, seasonal practices rooted in local cultural heritage, including growing food in small spaces, foraging, preserving, traditional crafts, and plant remedies.
Alongside practical heritage learning, we offer reflective wellbeing activities such as mindfulness, meditation and gentle, accessible movement to support health, confidence, and social connection.
The project is community-led and partnership-based, bringing people together to learn, share stories, and create a living archive of local seasonal wisdom, captured through a digital resource and a printed community zine to leave a lasting legacy.
